The Athlete Experience

Most athletes tell me they’ve never had professional portraits taken before—and that’s completely normal.

I’ll guide you through the entire session, from posing and expression to posing with your equipment naturally. You don’t need any modeling experience. My job is to help you look confident, comfortable, and like the best version of yourself.

The goal isn’t stiff poses—it’s creating bold, authentic images that feel like you.

You’re definitely not alone. It’s one of the first things I hear from new clients.

We don’t jump straight into serious poses. We’ll ease into the session, talk through everything, and keep things moving naturally. Before long you’ll stop thinking about the camera and start focusing on your sport.

By the end of the session, most athletes tell me it was much easier—and a lot more fun—than they expected.

Bring your full game uniform, including sport-specific footwear whenever possible.

If your session includes multiple looks, consider bringing warmups, a hoodie, letter jacket, college gear, or casual clothes that reflect your personality.

Solid colors usually photograph best, but don’t worry—we’ll discuss everything during your planning consultation.

Spotlight sessions are designed around one sport with multiple looks or wardrobe changes.

All-Star and Athlete Showcase sessions are perfect for athletes who compete in multiple sports or want a wider variety of images. Bring the uniforms, equipment, and accessories you’d like featured, and we’ll build the session around your goals.

Absolutely we can do both.

Most Athlete Experience sessions take place in our Port Jefferson studio, where we have complete control over lighting and can create dramatic, cinematic portraits regardless of the weather.

Athlete Showcase sessions can also include outdoor locations or on-location concepts when they best fit your vision.

Yes — and frankly, it’s even more fun in person.

The marquee lights are real. The sets are real. No Photoshopped backgrounds here.

The music is on, and you’re welcome to connect your device, put on your own playlist, and turn it up.

The lighting changes throughout the session. We use practical effects to create photographs that feel cinematic and unique. Most people walk in expecting a photography studio and leave saying,

“I wasn’t expecting that at all. That was fun!”

We designed the studio to feel creative, relaxed, and inspiring — not intimidating. Whether you’re photographing with the giant “27” lights or creating dramatic portraits with cinematic lighting, it’s an experience unlike a traditional photo studio.

Athlete Experience sessions are designed specifically for individual athletes who want high-impact sports portraits, even if their school or team isn’t organizing a Media Day.

Whether you’re building a recruiting profile, celebrating your season, or simply want amazing images, we’ll create a session tailored to you.

Absolutely. While the focus of the session is on the athlete, we’re always happy to capture a few sibling or family portraits at the end of the session if time allows. These often become some of the most meaningful images from the day.

Absolutely. Many athletes book sessions specifically for recruiting profiles, commitment announcements, social media, and college communications. We’ll create a variety of images that work for both personal keepsakes and recruiting needs.

Most galleries are delivered within about two weeks, often sooner.

Once your images are ready, you’ll receive an online gallery where you can download your high-resolution files and order prints or wall artwork if you’d like.

If you have a specific deadline—such as Senior Night, a recruiting commitment, or a publication—let me know, and I’ll do my best to accommodate it.
